Rand McNally intelliRoute TND 500

All, RM was going to release a update last week, but we got a couple more promsing Beta versions, so RM has decided to go ahead and submit the weekend version (more features) to their QA team. Hopefully it should be released to production this week.

current version is still 1392.

on the TND 500, the 3rd set of numbers (from left) is the build, the last set of numbers (far right) is the compiled time.

TND
main menu\preferences\device settings\about
should be on build 1392

Dock
top row (from left) third button.
should be on ver 1.0.46.0 or higher.

if you are on 1.0.45.0 then you need to go to your remove programs and remove the Rand McNally TND Dock, if it will not remove then go to your programs folder and find the folder Rand McNally, and delete the Rand McNally folder. Run the install for the TND Dock, select repair and let it finish installing. It should be working now on ver 1.0.46.0 or higher, if not then you need to do the update (top row, far left).

for NDA reasons, I will not discuss other companies units in comparison to the RM TND.

But, if you contact DieselBoss, he is quite Knowledgeable of all the different companies to include the TND Rand McNally. He did test RM TND for over 3 weeks, he is soon to post his reviews.

DieselBoss (Little Don), will discuss what your needs are and make sure you are happy with your decsion.

When I said put in the ability to disable the voice on recalc feature I was referring to the previous posters request for that feature. He wants it , I don't. I went on the website and put the request thru the TND for RM to dim the unit down , just trying to cover all the bases.

 

I understand, but each feature is taken into account as far as the pros\cons. If they put a feature in like that then most certainly it would be able to be disabled also.

Is your unit on build 1392?

if you go to the brightness setting, do you have a lightbulb in the upper left?

main screen\preferences\device settings\brightness.

Yes, it is build 1392.

Yes, I have a light bulb on that screen.

 

Do they have a external antenna for sale at the RM website? I looked but couldn't find one then emailed them and haven't had a response from them yet.

 

RM has been testing an external antenna, but none listed for sale yet.

The TND dock is working fine. You should update your unit to the 1392 software version when you get a chance.
