ok.. I deleted the Rand McNally folder out of the program file folder... deleted all TND Dock out of the registry..

I had a copy of 1.0.48.0 on my laptop, so I installed. TND Dock came up (with TND attached) and I was able to update.

I now show 1.0.48.0 from the update.. they may have pulled .54 over the weekend..

email me at rmleadbetatester at gmail and I will send you 1.0.48.0 to install..

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Mark,
Thanks for all the help. I have been quite frustrated with the problems, and I can honestly say Rand McNally (including you) is bending over backwards, but I can't help feeling like I have somehow become a beta tester, with one caveat....I had to buy my unit, at full price, and I doubt the other beta testers had to pay full retail for theirs.
On to the problems. I installed the version you helped me install on Saturday morning, and it still wants to route me off of the highway, at nearly every exit. My route took me from east of San Antonio, TX, to California, near Modesto. I used your advice and changed to the car mode, but every time I tried to switch back to the truck mode, it tried to route me off of the highway/freeway, and put me on secondary roads. This is a big problem, because when I am in the car mode, it doesn't allow me to use the truck tools, nor does it give me the advantage of the warnings for state borders and truck scales. If that's the case, why did I pay an extra $250 for a GPS device made for trucks? I could have bought a $250 TomTom or Garmin, without truck options.

Dan, I left you an VMS, I want to go over all your settings, it sounds like you have freeways no allowed in route settings.

I cannot understand 1429 acting like that, none of the testers reported anything like that.

    Hang in there...

    Thanks,
    Mark

Chris, it looks like you can go on www.randmcnally.com click on store, then the gps&electronics tab , it will give you a drop down menu for accessories click on that. You'll find a car charger for $19.95. I'd call customer service to verify.
