reboot - unit off then on again.

why not just leave the unit plugged into the 12vdc system while you are stopped? low current draw on the unit.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Hey Coonass, I agree with you. I'm interested in the Garmin 465T also.

One of the features I hope to use is the Lane Assist. Example: when going through a interchange of merging and complicated interstate junctions, the lane assist is supposed to tell you what lane(s) you should be in and stay in. No last minute(or second) lane changes cause the highway signs dont sit directly above the lanes and at a distance they can lead a person into the wrong lane.

Second benefit-purchase at Sam's Club for $300.00 and return it if not satisfied. Major plus.

Garmin's 465t looked good but when I went on Amazon.com to price check, there were 23 reviews and almost everyone of them was negative. Will continue to search this thread for more information but havent found a gps that works well for trucker's exclusively. ie, routing per truck size and weight, load weights, restrictions, low bridge clearances, etc. Anyone know of one, please let me know.

Hopefully the Rand McNally will do well.

    Thanks

Power,,, are you in the truck while it is being offloaded? if so can you put the switch to the acc position?

I will relay this onto Rand about your situation.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Ok Mark, a routing/ truck restriction issue. I left the intersection of Etiwanda and hwy 60 heading west into Brea Ca. Arrived at my destination however when i attempted to take the same 30 mile trip back to where i had started it routed me over a 52 mile route. I ignored its attempts to get me to turn off of 60 east back to Mira Loma, the whole trip back the unit was sqwuaking about the route not being truck legal. So 2 things: First this is a legal truck route so that ought to be fixed but secondly since there will be areas that are like that one there should be a way to simply ignore the warning maybe?

    Just repeated it. Try this.

    1 Clear all Odometers.
2 Choose destination from address book and select it. Hit set origin ( not begin route).
3 Then choose destination from address book and hit begin route.
4 Click on the detailed view of route
    5 check odometer
    6 repeat a few times
    7 check odometers

    Thanks,

    Steve

You should be able to do a POI search by by "city" as well as the other ways you mentioned. You do not need to have a route planned when you do it.

    Choose Destination
    POI
    City
    enter city

BTW with the new update you have a choice of what type of keyboard you want to use. You have to change it in your preferences.

    Thanks,

    Steve

when you are in a route... and on the main map page,,, right above the "+" is the turn-by-turn list. tap on it and you can see your route. Note - in a multi-stop you will only see the first segiment at this time.

    Thanks,
    mark
