Somewhere on the I-55 North going into Illinois before the I-39 the GPS freaks out and brings up the routing problem screen. After I pass the issue area it goes right back to being normal. Just some feedback.

thanks.. sounds like a truck mapping attribute.

I suspect that if you changed to car mode then the problem would go away... if it does..then a truck mapping attribute.

    I forwarded it to RM

    Thanks,
    Mark

Yupp! It did act normal when I changed it into car mode now that I think of it. Ohh, just thought of something else. I was heading up the I-75 North into Detriot. I had to be at Wolverine Packing Company 2535 Rivard Street and somehow it led me to a closed off area. I ended up heading east onto the Ambassador bridge. After I got off the Ambassador bridge into the US it led me right to Wolverine. Funny thing is the week before this happen I came down the I-94 with the GPS and had no issues at all straight into wolverine. Thanks Mark, hope this helps! Really love this product overall and it's saved me a couple of times.

Just wanted to post an update on the TND500 issues I have been having.

Seems the to be working somewhat better with the last updates.
Still is locking up at times. Still slow on calculating routes. Button response is still very slow also.
Have not had any routing error problems, like “ no routing info” or the others. So this is good.

I did notice that it has started to do this odd thing.
Often the unit compass is off, it says I am heading facing North, when I am actually pointed south.
When not moving, the unit will start to change directions. With the truck in the center of the screen, the display will start moving in a circle around the truck. Like it is trying to find its self. If I start moving, it seems to figure out where it is, then shows the correct compass heading.

One other thing I have bee finding. If the unit recalculates a route, the route is comes up with may not be the same route you started with. Most of the time it is minor things, A few time it was a major change.

    Mark a question for you
On the logs the unit keeps, would things like the route change be stored in them?
If not, I guess I need to start writing this stuff down

Only thing kept in the logs are your from/to, and any errors the unit may find in itself. (kind of like Dr. Watson)

    Thanks,
    Mark

Mark, you sent me a message and due to password issues I havn't been able to post.
When I responded to that gentlemans question I used a quotation from RM's site that said "us" or something like that. I am not a beta tester, just trying to help the guy out. He misunderstood and grouped me in with you as an offical RM type guy.

All, the way the TND is designed is that not all screens are loaded into memory. This frees more memory for other uses. If you push on a button and the button does not respond quickly the screen is loading. Now if it takes more than 30 seconds RM needs to know. But normally it takes a few moments. Pressing the button again will store the tap on the screen and when the next screen appears the stored tap will now be preformed.

Using of the fingernail to press the screens will usually help on the screens. Pens and sharp objects are not suggested... they will damage the touch sensitive screen.

The button should go gray if it senses a good tap.

    Thanks,
    Mark
