item 1... I routed both ways and the turn-by-turn shows x 140... but RM will look at the ramps and see if they show up truck restricted.

item 2.... noted... need an POI correction.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Yes, I used her in Dallas/Fort Worth yesterday and she was flawless. I screwed up and took one exit too early and she recalculated and got me going the right way without a hitch.

I also have used mine on several occasions through downtown Boston and even showed me a new shortcut into town that was great! also used through part of NYC and Atlanta...also no problems.

IUFAN87.....cool Mt. Crawford,VA make sure you wave when you go by! i live about ten miles from there. On the time zone thing..guess would help if could set how you want it, but for me i prefer having in the time zone you are del/pu at since thats the only time the customer cares about.

You can read a review on DieselBoss's web site.

If you have any questions or issues, I am always monitoring this thread 7 days a week.

I also can be reached at rmleadbetatester at gmail

I hope you enjoy your unit and be sure to let it charge first, then do updates.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Has the solution worked? In short, No.

Have not received anything from RM as of this date. When I was contacted, we did confirm the mailing address. I am not sure what exactly they are sending and by what means, USPS, UPS, FedEx? All she told me was that they would be sending along labels and return instructions.

While I have not been to the house yet, the wife is and has been on the look out for anything from RM.

Here is something interesting. I have a number of software tools that I can dig down into the systems with. When I first set up the TND unit, I did a full back up with the TNDDock, I found that file (a large file too) and segregated it. Then with the tools, I completely striped the system of RM software and all the hooks and links. Took awhile to find everything, running XP. But got it all. I reinstalled the first version of TNDDock and ran the restore function on the unit. This seemed to have set it back the the first version. The unit started up and worked. Then I installed the latest Dock update, and updated the unit. So far the unit seems to be working better. Have not had any real errors like the “no routing info” or the the “blank screen” The unit is still slow to do most anything. It will still lock up now and then and kick out of the routing.

I think we have two problems here. It seems that somehow, the software got corrupted during an install of an early update. Was it the 1.0.45.0 Dock or ? Hard to say. I do know thats when things really started to go bad.

I also think it may have a bad component in the unit, not failed, but not working properly.
Cold solder joint, a flaky chip any number of things. This can happen to any electronics device. These things can slip through the manufacturing process.

So for now, I am still using the unit, and still running the Garmin unit along side. While the Garmin is not perfect, I know it limitations. I just don't have faith in or trust the RM unit at this time.

The reason I purchased this unit was it was supposed to be a better tool to assist me in doing a job. So far this is not what it seems to have been. The amount of time spent on reporting problems, errors and general troubleshooting this unit has out weighed the benefits.

One thing that you may want to pass along. RM's tech support is greatly lacking for this unit. During the first few weeks of owning this product, I contacted TS by phone because they would not respond to e-mail, or a canned reply would be sent. When I did get to some one on the phone, I would quickly be moved to the next level. Here the problem was they would want me to do things I could not perform at the time I was on the phone with them. So I would get a name and return call number of the tech, only to never be able to get back to them. Also when I left voice-mail, to never get a return call.

You have been more responsive than RM has.

This then leads me to ask the question, has this unit and its problems overwhelmed the tech support staff? If so, this is not good

For now, I will see what RM sends to the house. Then go from that point.

So far, this has not been a good experience with the unit or RM.

I am not happy either. :biggrin_2552:

Are you going to be home next week? I have units here that I get to you, overnight if need be.

I wish you have let me know earlier that you had not received your unit yet.

I have passed along your concerns to RM. Remember I am always here on this thread if you or anyone else has TS delays.

I cannot say for certain why your unit is responding slowly. We have seen the RM files become corrupted due to internet connections.

For future reference, if you suspect your RM folder seem to be corrupted, you can hook your unit up to your computer and find the external drive showing Intelliroute. The drive should contain the folders Navi and RM. You can delete the RM folder, the TND Dock will reinstall it.

But, before you do that be sure to copy the RM\user folder to your laptop. Use Dos copy/paste commands... do not use the TND Dock for this procedure.

After the TND Dock rebuilds your RM folder then you can copy\paste the user folder back into the RM folder.

I have all the files here if you suspect severe problems, to include the OS and all the files/folders. All you would need is a 2gb SD card to flash the unit with the OS again.

If you are on Vista I have a program that will format the unit after you have installed the OS. Then you can copy all the files back onto the internal Flash. About 40mb.

    Thanks for your honest reply,

    Mark
