see page 69 post 686 for a complete listing of retailers from RM website. Whom you buy your TND from is your choice. if other retailers ship to Canada - I do not know. You would have to contact that retailer whom you prefer to do business with.

This evening I had a short run from Jackson, TN to Humboldt, TN. I typed in the address 899 Dana Dr. for Humboldt. I took off from Jackson and she led me straight to Dana Dr. .........In Milan, TN! I knew something wasn't right when I got to the street and it was a nice residential subdivision when it was supposed to be a Dana axle plant. So I got the ole stand-by paper Atlas out and realized the towns of Milan and Humbolbt are about 15 miles apart. Luckily I had directions in the Qualcomm to go by. Got to the plant and after unloading I noticed Amelia (my GPS's name) showed the location as Eaton Dr. So I asked the security guard what the actual address was and she said it was Dana Dr. but that it used to be Eaton Dr. That made sense to me. Only thing that bothers me is that Amelia routed me to Dana Dr. but in the wrong town!:biggrin_2554: I made a note in tell rand and will send it next time I hook her up to the internet.

I tried it also... put in Humboldt, TN, Dana Dr, 899 and set origin. It showed me in Medina, TN.

Put in Humboldt, TN, Eaton Dr, 899 and it shows me in Humboldt, TN.

mapping database error... I will forward to RM..

    Thanks,
    Mark

Drivers whom live in the far north, which we refer to as Canada. Be aware on page 69 is a list from Rand McNally whom are the authorized retailers for the TND.

You can also go to Rand McNally's web site to see the list.

My prior post of mentioning a retailer by name that ships to Canada has not set well with another retailer. It was done by mistake, so the interested driver could get an idea of shipping costs.

I do not and have never shown any favorites with any retailer. The decision to buy a TND is yours and yours alone. Whom you buy it from is your decision and yours alone.

So, go forth and buy from the retailer of your choice. :biggrin_25514:

    Thanks,
    Mark

Mark, Yesterday was trying to go from Knoxville,TN to Salisbury,NC. Had to reroute around the rock slide on I-40, no problem it knew exactly what to do, but.... it refused to route me across US-70 between I-77 and I-85 in NC. I have been that way many times so I took it anyway. It just kept trying to get me to turn around. Once I got almost to I-85 (sorry too dark to get mm's) it started saying I was on a weight restricted road, but its not. I will send to RM as well.

Did you wave to me as you went through Cleveland by the Freightliner plant? I live about 5 miles away...

Yes,, US-70 has truck attributes set wrong. It should be corrected in the next mapping update.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hello everyone!

I've tried scanning through this thread (over 750+ posts!!) so if this subject has already come up, please pardon me for missing it earlier.

Does anyone have any real world feedback to offer on the TND500 in the area of Haz-Mat routing? In particular, I'm interested in how well it covers restricted routes for explosives (1.1 - 1.6).

While I have the training and resources to avoid roads and areas that will get me in trouble before I ever leave the shipper, it would be nice to have a GPS unit that might actually work as a bit of a "safety net" if I have to do an unexpected re-route due to weather, wrecks, and all that other fun stuff than can result in a highway closure.

I've never used a GPS (sometimes I think I'm the only driver out here who still doesn't have one!) largely because I've never found one that works well with Haz-Mat of any sort, let alone explosives.

Has anyone used the TND500 while running Hazardous Materials in general, and explosives in particular?
