The same could be said for manual fuel pumps. I've long said, electronics are great,,,when they work. Most people today are sheep. They have to go along with what everybody else is doing, and consider the atlas our "ace in the hole". It's important to pre-look at the route, and write down the way on a sticky note. Traffic is too unpredictable today to take your eyes off the road, even for a second..

I come home a couple years ago and my Rand Mcnally is gone from my enclosed back porch. Ask the boss (wife) where is my atlas? She said I threw it out last year. I said why? She said you haven't touched since 2013. Oh I said. Drive the same roads over and over again. Really didn't need it I guess, was like an old friend.
JoeyJunk, ducnut, Numb and 1 other person Thank this. -
I always buy last years edition. They're cheaper then this year's edition.
But every few years though.
I always get the laminated. They hold up better.
1962 still works well today? With it missing probably 90% of the needed info that's popped up in the last 60 years. lolRockinChair, tscottme and Old_n_gray Thank this. -
US Rt 666 out in the 4 Corners area is still there, so I am confidant I am on the right path...
It has everything I need while on a trip in my 1956 Studebaker Champion... -
