well i tried updating my tnd 700 today aftger not having it hooked up to plwer for almost a week and its telling me something about problems copying files on to the tnd. i cant update it at all. i tried restoring my data on it but still nothing. how can i fix this? is this a normal problem after not being hooked up to power for a week? if so that needs some serious fixing right there. that is a major major drawback to a gps if it HAS to have power applied to it at all times to work properly.

On your TND you went from not to bad to oops... now it is broke.
The first error you got was an easy fix. The second one you got "system files missing" could lead to several different paths.
Connect your TND to your computer, close the TND Dock, Go to your start menu and click on (my) computer and look for the external drive that should show IntelliRoute. Click on that drive and tell me what you see.
If you see ASCII characters like squares and other odd symbols then the TND needs to be reflashed. Several options there. I can mail you SD Card needed even if you are on the road. This take about 30 minutes.
If you can still read the folder names you may have deleted too many folders and I can send you the folders to replace them. Any file I send you will be compressed, so you will need a way to uncompress them.
Let me know..
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark, one quick question since we have misplaced the instruction manual TND 700, how do you change the voice? My husband changed to the Man voice (doesn't like or can't hear) but can't remenber how to change back to the lady voice. Thanks for your help. TANDK

Have the TND700 and am literally lost if I leave home without it. One small, but annoying, problem I encounter when hitting construction areas. The GPS will route me around but take me out of route, through small towns then wind me right back where I would have been in less time if I had just gone on through the construction. The GPS has been trying to route me around something tonight and at one point was telling me rlto take a route marked as not a truck route. Any idea what setting could be causing this? It doesn't seem to make a difference if it is set on shortest or fastest.
Thanks. -
Can you give me details?
Thanks,
Mark
