The irony of dealing with crappy oak harbor drivers and then someone I know that drives for them is now trying to recruit me. Lol.
Anyone have experience with the linehaul side if those guys? -
Driver: rings doorbell and knocks on the door and shouts obnoxiously “WALMART DC! OPEN UP! I HAVE PRIORITY CLEAR THE DOCKS”
Me (on the other side of the door thru the window) : Ok you’re with the Walmart DC? May I please see your company issued badge?
Driver: What?
Me: you said you’re with a Walmart DC. Can I please see your company issued badge? All DC employees and drivers are issued them.
Driver: I don’t have one
Me: then you’re not a DC employee or a Walmart private fleet driver and will be received as such
Driver: stares blankly with stupid look on his face
Me: go back to your truck and wait your turn
About 45 mins later the trucks blocking the docks are checked in and docks are cleared. Then an ACTUAL Walmart driver pulls up and backs in. He asks me what’s the deal with the USX driver with the Walmart reefer out there? I said oh he’s in a hurry and said he has priority. Driver says “oh really? Well he’s gonna learn patience today!” Driver asked if it was ok if he went and shopped for a few things. I told him no problem. An hour later he comes back with his cart full of stuff and off he goes. That USX driver finally got backed in after waiting outside for almost 2 hours total. Suddenly he didn’t have priority. The guy was incredibly rude and had he not been so rude to begin with I would have gladly unloaded him and he would have been out of there in 15 minutes. The DC called and apparently the USX driver complained. I told them about the guys attitude and the Walmart driver backed me up (he was a regular who delivered a few times a week). I never did see that USX driver again. Now by nature I’m a pretty chill and laid back person and I would get trucks unloaded as quickly as possible but that USX driver was incredibly rude.misterG, speedyk, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this. -
