I had a hell of a mess to deal with today.
I was loaded against the door on the right side for my first 10 stops all down the left side.
I was getting more pissed with each liftgate delivery that I had no room to move.

Anybody else get to run today besides me and the 4 ABF trucks I passed on the PA Turnpike?

I’d rather have did this run yesterday, but that was above my pay grade -

At least I won’t have to wait an eternity for the meet driver.

Well, I've got a rant.
good ol Friday, things looking smooth. Out the gate on time, met with turn driver, 5 min swap, back to yard, drop trailer than go with a single 4k pup out to a small terminal about 3 hours away on the other side of a windy, out in the middle of nowhere backcountry highway.
stop about halfway through that road to take my mandatory 30 minute lunch. Have the truck on keeping me warm, was about 29 degrees outside, all the sudden, truck dies and everything turns off. Headlights, cab light, horns didn't work, even the on board computer/gps was dark.
Best part? I'm miles away from even a hint of any kind of cell phone service. It's 330 in the morning, pitch black outside. There's no heater, no light aside from my eld light, my cell phone, and my headlamp. Oh, and mountain lions and bears are also know to wander around the area.
so, being it's pitch black, freezing out. I had to spend 4-5 hours curled up on the floor of the truck trying to keep warm with cheap off brand hand warmers while covering myself up with a bunch of ratchet straps as a sort of blanket till the sun came up and things started warming up.
then I had to walk 3 miles till finally, by the grace of God, a nice couple who just by luck happened to be good friends with the terminal manager of the terminal I was going to recognized the truck and saw me walking, offered to give me a ride to where I'd have service.
after finally getting to service, being put on hold 5 times by dispatch and the shop not answering,I finally got ahold of the person responsible for getting me a tow truck. Get a ride back to the truck, and end up waiting 3 1/2 hours for the tow truck arrived. After a then 3 hours truck ride back to my home terminal, my ### finally ends up being able o go home and take a flipping 12 hour naproad_runner, snowbird_89, jmz and 4 others Thank this.
