The best was the Yellow/Roadway merger in 2009. Switched computer programs for shipping documentation in the midst of the merger, lost a bunch of people's freight in the system, and torpedoed their reputation with a lot of customers. A trail of disasters.

 

The best equipment and reputation in LTL?

 

No doubt, Dayton is 50 years younger then Valley, and of equal size. They gain some regional distribution in the Eastern Dakotas, and a little in Kansas and Nebraska.

Dayton gets the same problems that Valley had, and we all face. Lack of workers.
As well as delivery issues.

The world isn't just metro areas. Which is where Valley shone through. They were cheaper and had wider partnerships.

As long as you can say goodbye to sleep for a while, you'll be alright. Just when the time of day ceases to matter and you can fall asleep at dinner with no problem, you'll get a day shift run.
