    I finally have a rant!
Last night I was parked on I-70 West in Indiana for over 3.5 hours in the ice. There were so many wrecks on 70 and 465, nobody could make it to the Indy terminal. A bunch of us were told by dispatch to head back home when traffic resumed. I ended up doing 276 miles in 10 hours and ended up right where I started. I'm wondering how the other linehaul drivers did out there last night.

Mike2633, Naptown and Buckeye91 Thank this.

Season 3 episode 2 of Highway Through Hell has them fighting the road with black ice and it's not pretty hard to get around in the snow and worse in the ice. Trucks jack knifing and stuffs dangerous.

Yeah, from what I heard my shutdown was due to a car sliding into the median, hitting the wires, and bouncing back up onto the road, sitting sidways in a lane. Drivers warned our side about it on the radio, but a truck driver ended up cresting the hill and saw it too late. The truck jackknifed and hit the car, ending up with the cab in the median and the trailer perpendicular to the road with its tandems in the right side ditch. Supposedly it was a fatality because the car driver stayed in the car in the middle of the road. Horrible.

Those accidents get dirty and nasty really fast. Amazing how they just turn into that.

And yet they tell you that you are much safer if you stay inside the car. I guess it depends on WHERE the disabled vehicle has come to rest, and how near and how good, is other cover.

misterG, Bob Dobalina and Mike2633 Thank this.
