It always sucks when these companies start with their financial shenanigans. You really don't know who to believe, but I guess what you believe really doesn't matter. You either stay with the devil you know, or you try to get on with the devil you don't know.

I'm betting the top brass there took neither a pay cut, nor a "wage freeze." We have all heard the threats these companies make to "go belly up," or "close their doors," if they don't get things their way. The hell of it is, you never really know when that is exactly what they will do. I'm sure most of us have seen it go both ways, with different companies of course.

 

Customers who are too cheap to request a liftgate, expecting you to breakdown 2500 pounds of wood flooring by hand. And keep the huge pallet

 

Here's a rant, clueless supervisors who don't know anything about the industry and wanting you to load 10 grand stacked on a trailer... Makes sense being top heavy

 

I'm always speechless during the weekdays. Woo hoo. 62 hours and zero mileage this week. I can pay car/ home insurance 3 month in advance

22 OT hours that's not bad

 

this company makes me appreciate it. We all know what bottom rate + time 1/2 is. I love and hate this job. Not behind on any payments, but dang past 3 weeks had me worried.

 

I'm ahead of my bills as well. They don't pay us enough for starting out, and don't give us the equipment we need to do the job

 

Here's your bamboo flooring ma'am, where's your dock so I can unload it?

Um, we don't have a dock.

 

I hear that! That was the biggest gripe I had, when I first started with my last outfit. Hand trucks or pallet jacks? Nah, if they don't have a dock, use a chain to pull the pallets back so they can grab 'em with their fork lift. It was actually a step forward when the bought a couple of pallet pullers, so you didn't have to try to rig the chain through the pallet, which was usually impossible anyway.

But within a year or two, we actually wound up getting some pallet jacks and hand trucks. What a difference!

 

We need it inside the building... you ordered it you put it there yourself!
