Interestingly enough GOOD companies with small fleets will take a hell of a lot better care of their employees than these huge outfits.

Back when I was young and dumber, I had a boss that always had a reason why I couldn't take a vacation day. I'd schedule a day and get it approved, then a day or two before I was to be off he'd give me a sob story about how he really needed me or couldn't find a replacement to cover for me. I'd cave and cancel the vacation. Over the course of a year I scheduled 8 weeks of vacation time even though I had only 2 weeks.
Company policy was to pay unused vacation time at the end of the year, which the boss reminded me of every time he weaseled me into working. End of the year, I had 60 hours unused vac. District manager said that was too much and only paid me for 15 hours. I argued that I had repeatedly scheduled vacation time but my supervisor kept crying that he needed me to work. Didn't care.
I went to the supervisor and told him what happened. Then I told him two weeks for my resignation was too much time and he was getting 3 hours notice. I was escorted out of the facility like I'd been caught stealing from the supply closet, but I was grinning ear to ear.
Nowdays I work my butt off when it's time to work, but when the company promised me something I make sure I get it all.G13Tomcat, Bob Dobalina, Gearjammin' Penguin and 4 others Thank this. -

Ohhh fun in the sun today, and tomorrow is going to be fun as well.
I had 17 stops all in the G-A mostly the G part of the G-A which is Geauga county. I'm not real good with Geauga county, but at any rate. I had one stop today small restaurant where I put there dry where there dry should be and then there was almost no room.
So I saw they had a stand up freezer and I put there freezer right across from the stand up freezer problem was it was next to the stove although that shouldn't be that much of a problem, because how long are you going to let the stuff sit out?
Anyhow, the woman goes "You can't put that stuff next to the stove, come on now and use some common sense."
I thought that was a little bit uncalled for this was out in the country too where people are supposed to be nicer and more friendlier... So I put the stuff in the back and blocked them from getting to any of there dry goods and now they have to lug the stuff back up front to there freezer. My question is, what's the difference if it all sits out in the back or sits out next to the stove the cold chain is broken anyhow at that point?
At any rate dealt with a lot of Amish women today don't really deal with them much, they were alright. The woman who told me to use "common sense" was an "English" which in Amish vernacular is all of us non-Amish.
Uhh had a couple camps today, botch both of those up pretty good drove down the wrong drive way for both of them both times. The first one, I get too I went down the wrong road to discover there was a covered bridge that I wasn't going to make it past.
So I had to back out onto the road and go down another driveway.
The second camp same deal two drive ways the address on the mail box was the address to deliver to. It was tight dirt/gravel road I guess made a hard turn in there and then stopped got out and realized I was way way way in the wrong spot. So again back out on to the street fun in the sun and go to the next driveway.
It's all part of the fun as we like to say.Longarm, G13Tomcat, Bob Dobalina and 3 others Thank this. -
We have a few out on vacation and some call offs tomorrow I'm running another blind route, hooray! We have so many off that we can't afford any more call offs or else will have to run doubles on our routes.

We had one of these idiots last week. He was supposed to go to Dover, DE. He got lost and somehow wound up in Wilmington.
Then, he was supposed to go to Delmar DE and got lost a second time, somehow ending up in Millsboro.
And don't even get me started on pulling 53's with the axles slid all the way back and placards showing on the doors.
