Here's a good one, so today I was out in Boston Heights and haha I had a delivery to this camp way out on Akron Road so after that camp I had a delivery to a ski resort, so we get done with the camp and to get to the ski resort you have to make a left hand turn and there is a sign ROAD CLOSED
    LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY

So I said to my helper "Local traffic only that means it's open and we can get through." He goes I guess so, so and Boston Heights is kind woodsy rural country it's hilly and right out side the Cuyahoga Valley National Park so any how road with lower trees and other malarchy winding road and we're going and going and as were chugging along there's a clearing and a winedy road alright no problem but I also spot a couple utility locating/engineering company pick up trucks and some construction worker trucks parked off in the grass Amber lights all going and as we got closer, in the middle of the road there's a Ford Aermox flatbed low boy and a huge fork lift crane next to it with this big rigging set up and they were taking up the entire road doing some kind of pick obviously.

So I stop the truck and my helper goes "we're going nowhere right now." Should we back down the road into that drive way we just passed.

There was a drive way big enough to park the truck in and turn around about 100 yards back so I said "Aww man how are we going to get to the ski resort now?"
My helper goes "get to the ski resort now? Let's get our selves out of this before we worry about that!"
I'm laughing as in type this.
I said to him "Good point."
We're on a two lane road on the side of a hill can't turn the truck around that's not going to happen so haha, I backed up we ally dock backed up into the driveway, got our selves pointed in the right direction and thank GOD that driveway was there and in the perfect spot or else we would have been screwed magoooed trying to drive backwards for 1.5 miles.

The road doesn't get much traffic so that wasn't an issue any how we end up getting back to town and there is another sign BRIDGE OUT and my helper goes "see there's a good sign Bridge out clearly tells you what it means not open to interpretation at all.

I said if the road is actually closed then it should say road closed the end. Ohio loves there contradictory road signs and signs totally open to interpritation.

Any how it's like that song give me 40 acres to turn this rig around.

What a mess 70 is between Indianapolis and Columbus. @Bob Dobalina gets my respect for doing it every day. And it doesn't help matters that the dumbest, rudest truckers I encounter are always on 70. I'll never take those lonely rural highways I usually run for granted again.

I think 71 between Columbus and Cleveland is worse. For some reason that 3 lanes just makes people forget all about the slower traffic keep right rule.

I have had to drive automatic rentals when the regular truck was down. Hate them. Constantly reaching for the clutch pedal and gear shifter that were not there! I have done some mountain grade driving in previous jobs-I just do not trust an auto shift on down grades.

I'm driving our van today we have two cargo vans and we had a heavy van day so they split the van route haha and I'm constantly turning the wheel the wrong way when backing and constantly going for the clutch that isn't there and reaching for the shifter that also is not there.

Yep. Seeing the box in my mirror tells my brain that it's a trailer and I turn the opposite direction when backing.
