Tomorrow is gonna suck. We have 6 P&D drivers. One guy said he is having some pain and will not be in tomorrow. Being short handed plus my management's inability to route deliveries efficiently, get our trailers loaded on time, and ####ty dispatching of pick ups means fun times tomorrow! Yay! Woo Hoo!

good news: They are making me a lead driver (of 3 trucks, but whatever it's 2c more per mile)
bad news: it's official, FXG is cutting us to 65. I can run 74. (and out west here, even speed limits in town are 65 and I run quicker than that at night and still get blown off the road, outside town is 75, Wyoming and Utah are 80) That's a pretty significant pay cut. (13% 74 to 65) I haven't decided how to approach this yet. But leaving it sit to eat a pay cut isn't an option. The good thing about FXG vs. real companies is iyou can go quicker so you give up some per mile. But if you can't go quicker then IMO i expect the same pay. (upper 50's plus per mile, which is not what i get now)

I'm pretty sure we dispatch at darn near 60 mph, if not better. We're governed at 65 on the cruise, and company policy is to not exceed 65 (sucks in 70mph states). Projected time in transit versus actual is quite close, sometimes within minutes.

We have a short relay run out of Indy that should be set at a 55 or 60-minute transit time but has a 45-minute one instead. It has even caused an argument between meet drivers because the one guy will always be "late" according to his ETA. I did the math on it my first time there so I could explain it to the other driver. "Sorry, but I can't do 51 miles in 45 minutes, and neither can you."
To do the run in time we'd need to average 74 mph, so we'd need to do around 80 the whole time we were on the freeway. 80 mph in a 55 on 465 around Indy? I don't think so. Regardless, we're governed at 68...Last edited: Jul 25, 2017
