One time I had 8,000lbs to deliver to at a restaurant.

 

And if you wind up getting hurt while hand unloading and have to file a workers comp claim then they will say "you should not have been slinging freight by hand."

 

I do the same thing. A lot of these folks don't make a habit of shipping, or they've never done it before. You can't blame them for what they were never taught.

 

Another dismal pay check this week as we keep going backward. This month financially has probably been my worst. I actually had to compare this past week to 2 weeks ago because I thought I had more cases last week then the week before that and I did, 2,458 to 2,499, but that's only a $6.56 cent difference however I did more digging and last week I had 3.72 hours worth of over time where as the week before that I had 7.29 hours of over time and there in lies the rub.

I won't be sad when the summer is over and the kids have to go back to school as this week I have no choice I have to pay my mortgage and at the same time I just got done updating my basement electrical so this dismal pay check kind of sucks because it all goes straight to the mortgage no money for gas or anything else I'm going to have to take a leave of absence and work some place like with Road Runner where they have more work then they know what to do with. At least until school starts in a month or so then things should pick up.

 

I sure could hook you up with some asphalt to haul, as we chase our tails this time of year. Sux tho, bud. Sorry.

Yes, and yep. At least the guy I run for requires it; though we seldom need it. It's mostly just hot, not Haz. Man, you could really look AROUND your area for seasonal tank work....Toledo is NOT that far~!

 

There's some mail contractor here that has some part time run on Saturday ohhh it's probably not worth the $70.00 after you pay tax on top of it.

However I just got off the phone with the boss man he said 2 weeks here there's going to be a massive turn around the days of the light loads will be over.

 

Came in today-still short handed on drivers and the lift gate was still not fixed. Told them I will be bringing back the lift gate deliveries-now they want me to go to the shop and get it fixed. Put me an hour behind. Now they want me to do pickups before lunch-nope too close to 8 hours need to stop now.
