Chain dispatches from 1930 Sunday night till 0200 Monday morning. Repeat again on Wednesday evening. 3 of use go out Monday night/Tuesday morning from 2200 till 0000. I leave at 0000 Tuesday morning and 0100 Thursday morning. All new routes are now 4 day(2 and 2). no more 3 and 2 or 2 and 3. Virginia Beach and Long Island are turn round points, furthest out we go. It's 4-5 hours to first stop on Chain routes, 2-3 on school routes(they suck, LOL),

Van driver makes 19.00/hr plus OT. Some kid from the warehouse took the job.

Also, our comp went up 2%, Both sides and retro back to November 4th.

As for finding a spot for a trailer, good luck, for some reason there are a ton of trailers in the yard now, alot of extra 50's. 36's where being parked across from volume docks but good luck finding a spot. And don't forget to put on your safety vest when walking around the yard, them yard jocks are nuts, LOL

Hourly pay is 24 and change. We get OT after 40 based on that hourly rate.

Our warehouse runs on time most of the time. Transit tells us when there going to come in so the amount of time I spend waiting for the warehouse is minimal.

Our road guys transit and volume are paid by the hour and run so they get compensated hourly while they wait for the warehouse.

No kidding they are, don't even leave you're vehicle on foot around the yard, you're just asking for it. You're nuts to run across that yard by foot.

$24.00 is what you get paid for sitting around waiting at back hauls or waiting on the warehouse or I think additional service time.

Once you're out on the road like me, I get paid day rate, piece pay and millage.

Yeah I guess with the new 36's and some other reason or another it's not totally clear there is a glut of 50' trailers.

Same thing where I'm at.. they all think they are nascar drivers. Most of them should be drug tested every week, but then we would probably have no yard jockeys. Bunch of clowns

Yard hostlers do not always make the best drivers either they've had some go from yard jocky to driver and the transition wasn't nearly as smooth or easy as you would think. @G13Tomcat once wisely said "Being a yard jocky usually gives one a false sense of confidence."

I thought the same thing it's like a gat dang NASCAR race in the yard with those people, I call the yard the race track.

The driver that's below me on seniority list used to be a jockey. He seems to be alright and likes city driving.

2 weeks ago we had 5 openings for linehaul on night. Few city drivers applied and 2 of them are under me. Most likely they will have to drive 100 miles to another hub in Newburgh Ny, work the dock for few hours there and come back. I was going to apply, but the fact that I would have to work vampire hours kind of turned me offo_O P/D has been hit or miss lately.... not sure how I feel about it
