Random LTL Rants (all are welcomed)

Looks like I'll be stuck on the dock tomorrow as well. Woohoo Today they had no runs and they only let us stay for 1 hour overtime. I saw the sheet for city drivers for tomorrow and 15 drivers that are above me are on call including me. Usually all of them have 830 start time

The only thing I'll get to drive this week is a forklift.

 

It still pays.

Yeah I guess. It's just they spoiled me with city work or decent runs each day. Now I'm back on the dock. Is your hub also slow in winter? We have another bid coming up, most likely I'll stay on this unassigned bid or switch to 9pm. 9pm bid has shuttle runs and rail, no straight truck non sense.

 

All calm before the hell breaks loose. I gotta admit our dock is filthy compared to other places that I have been to

 

Well everyone, I don't have any fun stories and pictures to share like @Fuelinmyveins has. Come new year though were taking on a new client, commercial local sales had there eye on a pretty big fish (local microbrew that has 12 locations.) Well, that's caused the routes to be reworked, it's constant, you get something good for a year, then something kind of crappy for a year then back to good. We bid routes, but that doesn't mean that much, because customers come and customers go and that causes them to rework routes. My Thursday and Friday have both been reworked, a couple times, although I don't think my Friday is going to have any major hangups it's actually better now then it was, I lost a couple less then desirable stops.

But my Thursday now has changed and I'm going to be going out of the way for a stop I know they already talked about getting rid of one stop on my Thursday there may very well be another they should consider getting rid of. Then hired a new guy he started this week, I though we were supposed to be getting another truck, that might be after the new year. Last meeting we had they said they were adding (2) trucks.

Well will see. Weeks over and I was able to get all the end of the year bills paid right now hurray. They also got my second payment for my new fence paid up and off so done with that, $3,412.00 for a new fence.

Oh well suppose I'm rambling now.

 

Our sweats too. Especially when it rains like it did today. Driving on the dock today felt like sliding on the ice.

 

Welp I'm done for this week. No driving at all!

When I came in today our dock supervisor said that they might let us go before 8th hour since it was really slow. Around 4pm they let few dockworkers leave at one point some guys were sweeping the floor. However around 6pm and 7 when road drivers started coming back from the run, they started brining all the freight and guess what? All of the sudeen we've got plenty of work, but only few people on the dock. I was able to get my 9 hours today. More part timers came in later so it wasn't that bad.

They also have bunch of new dockworkers still in training. It's scary out there.

I'm coming in on Monday to do some swaps and live loads in the city. They only need few drivers so I signed up.
