At Frito, we don't get that line often. Nobody else wants to hand-unload floor stacked product 10 feet high (drop frame van trailers). Even places who typically push lumpers seem ok with letting us do it. Amazon is the only place I've been to where they won't let us on the dock, but their stuff is palletized and small quantities anyway.

I was banned from XPEDX in Hanover MD for the heinous crime of unloading their two skids myself. I shook my head at some idiot being offended about that and wondered why it is union people who understandably cry when they have to do any work now cry when they don’t have to do any work.

I've only used another companies forklift THREE times. ALWAYS with EXPLICIT permission. And two of those times with the boss's supervision.
So, it happens. But not often, and I don't try it until I get to know them.

Yeah I tell you I wouldn't be to hip to hop on a companies forklift. A pallet jack is one thing especially a manual pallet jack, but a fork lift places get real funny about that.

I had a customer get all bent out of shape once because I had four totes of motor oil to deliver to his farm and nobody was around. I went inside the barn and looked around and nobody was around. I saw a couple of old tractors and one had fork attachments on it. Called dispatch, they said leave. Next day, customer called and was pissed. Told dispatch the driver can use the tractor if nobody is around. Ok... went back two days later, same deal. Hopped on the tractor, fired it up. Cruised out of the barn downhill and NO BRAKES. Went past the truck lol and came at the totes on level ground and left them there. Unfreakingbeliecableeee

I think single axle is 20,0000lbs we've run ours as heavy as 22-23K

Depends what you’re pulling it with. You should be goid for about 52k if you pull it with a single screw. A tandem will get you a max of 66k if you have long enough wheelbase under the Federal bridge Formula to allow for it.

Alright guys The Plain Dealers top mid sized companies to work for in 2019

    In northeast Ohio.

US Foods came in #46 out of 51

Pitt Ohio Came in 12 out of 51 so both of those are pretty good employers then.

Bob Dobalina and Cardfan89 Thank this.
