Alright everyone so today officially kicked off the on season. It is the unofficial end of summer as Cleveland Municipal School District is back to work today!

I had 710 cases today for 17,016lbs or something like that.

Tomorrow I'm pushing almost 19,000lbs probably 800-900 cases so it's game on will see what the count is at the end of the week.

I worked with the sociopath who did the opposite; put lots of cleaning supplies and dirty rags in the truck to impress the company owners, told all the other drivers how he cleaned the truck, and actually trashed any truck he drove. I threw out his cleaning supplies and there was no protest, likely took him a while to notice they were gone.

He was the type that drives with work gloves on rather than stowing them by the seat when he gets in.

    Top pay, is subjective.
Life is what YOU make of it.
Me? I don't worry that much about pay. I do what I love and the pay comes with it.

I just see Dayton Freight truck with a sleeper. How many LTL companies have sleepers? I know AAA Cooper does but only for teams I think.

We(Dayton Freight) only have sleepers because the sister OTR company they owned, Kelley, went out of business. So they took their sleeper trucks and used them for the linehaul drivers with what’s called system bids. Where they stay out all week.

From what I understand, they don’t force them to sleep in them. They can still choose between a hotel or the truck.

The system drivers will occasionally take naps in the sleeper on break or whatever, but they still usually take their 10 in hotels. It's nice that they at least have the option to use the sleeper if they really need to though. Also, there aren't any teams at DFL.

Estes, R&L, and Old Dominion all run sleeper teams.

Everything in life is subjective. What I may like to do many people can’t and most people won’t. Since I currently work for me and only because I want to, not need to, I really like it most days. The days I don’t I just take off early. The days I work hard I put my “Top pay” at UPS to shame. What a great country we live in.
