What do you think is the biggest mistake new drivers make when learning to shift?

Reving the motor prior to dumping the clutch to get rolling. That one kills me. Eats up clutches like a mother.

I cringe when I watch a truck twisting and hopping the way some drivers pull away from a stop.

think i will jump in here , for myself i don't think the shifting will be to much of a problem . i think the biggest worries i have is .. keeping it in the lane .
I mean i have my Monte Carlo ,my silverado , but those are just small potatoes compared to siting up in the big rigs . my thoughts any way

Hrm.. I have to say (based on me) it's both shifting too fast, and pushing the clutch pedal to the floor.

I seen a truck take off from a stop light the other day, twist so bad, the left front tire was practically off the ground :biggrin_2551: He looked like Steve Kinser going into the first turn at Eldora.
