Random thought: Why do Megas hire 100 people a week?

    Friend of mine with Averitt a couple of years ago said of the 100, likely 10. Then the drug test result left 4 or 5. Then he said,
    "Roger, you would glance at them and refuse to hire on general appearance." He holds in high regard my quick, visual, interviews.

    they hire mostly rookies and 90% realize after the first week it’s nothing like they thought it would be and head home.

    The conundrum of drivers sitting isn't part of the Mega management.

    The bean counters push to fill empty seats, they can't stand Iron sitting against the fence.

    All their 'predictions' are always based on 100 capacity while the reality is conditions always product turnover and they monitor the empty seats.

    Every carrier has performance metrics however any freight outside a captive account is hard to measure.

    I have seen locations being told to shed a particular captive customer as they felt they were loosing money, mega size companies also have internal auditors that do look at revenue but the empty seats always rule, get them trucks workin......
