At my current job they've overhired by about 3-4 people apparently. I got popped for a random 3 months in a row when I was hired on. It's all random though, trust us, it's just a coincidence. There's another guy who's also been "randomly selected" twice in the past couple months. Maybe they'll figured out I don't do drugs? Guess they'll need to find some other ####### excuse to lay people off. They're trying to get me to quit by sending me to terminals all across the Western US and having me live in a hotel for a month at a go. I don't mind, I'm a real, hardcore, bad to the bone, unstoppable, undefeatable, utterly resilient, super trucker. I have no reason or purpose in life but to move that gosh darn freight come hell or high water. Nothing matters to me but that load, that truck, and that trailer! Oorah!
Oxbow, Accidental Trucker and Jamie01 Thank this. -
6months ago when i joined ttr i had not 1 dam clue of the BS you all put up with . Only drug testing i'd been familiar with is when lunch break kicked off on a BIG house everybody went to top floor by a window and fired up 6 or 8 hoglegs and passed them around . Plumbers Elec Hvac Bricklayers Roofers and Framers if still there. Crazy.

I did this quarterly at 3 different carriers form 1998 to 2020. It is a job when dealing with around 100 CDL drivers. and usually is someone picked who 'just' quit -or- someone who just left on a multi week honeymoon vacation, etc. so each pick comes with a couple subs ';in the can'.
I would keep on dispatch to get them done before the end of the quarter at their convenience as they were all trained regarding how to give them out and they were kept locked in the petty cash box until the next slack day...
Perhaps the random generator just picks up on new candidates from the recent pre-employment as in a dozen of so randoms one or two would be new hires.
Of course I was paid to be honest.
Edit:
despite a percentage of pre-employment positives which seem to be less these days but then a lot of my port guys were of one ethnic religion.
Kudos to all driver's out there I've only encountered ONE positive post-accident! -
Also if picked for a BAC test the notice has to be within 20 minutes of starting or ending 'safety sensitive' duty VRS almost anytime to donate just urine.Oxbow Thanks this. -

I would bet a lot of the drivers at the weigh stations would try imposing the 5th Amendment as to self incrimination of a pee test.
