Radio Shop Supply is an independent radio shop contracted by Ranger Communication Inc. for warranty repairs on RCI, Virage, Voyager, Superstar, Mirage & Texas Ranger products.

    Ranger's going no-where...

He posted it again when I asked him last week if he knew anything...

I have a hard time believing RCI/Ranger would be going under, since just about every radio out there uses Ranger boards and parts...

Now if the FCC closed them down for building and selling unauthorized Radio Equipment, that would be a different story, but I have not seen anything suggesting that on the FCC Web Site.

Could be something as simple as maybe their factory got wiped-out by the Tsunami in Japan, or temporally shut down...

The FCC tried to stop Ranger from selling their "10 meter" in the United States about 10 years ago, I'm sure you still see them on the shelf.

One of the Yaesu factories was closed after the tsunami hit Japan.

Think they have tried more recently than that. Just about all the Export 10 Meter radios are either built by Ranger, or at least uses Ranger parts...If the FCC did manage to close down RCI I'm not even sure Cobra would still be around.

It would be a "Midland World!" :smt118:smt003

Midland just doesn't seem to have the quality they did back in the day,I think, for me atleast, it would be a Uniden World.
