    Has anyone seen this rate increase we are suppose to be enjoying due to the ELDs or are they all going to the brokers? I still see the same rates as before and some even a little lower;

    I've seen rate increases for the past 8 months but it isn't because of the ELD, that's just a BS fantasy wishful thinking for many.

    Saw a +.75 increase on all miles last year and trending another +.51 mile so far this year so far.

    +.88 first quarter this year over first quarter last.

    This is almost all loadboard freight and within a percentage point on deadhead miles.

    Not quiet sure of the rules here. However, it would help to put where you are and what kind of equipment you are looking for.

    I haul for a shipper on a seasonal basis then I have to do the load board.I was hauling for a company as a lease on Owner operator I asked them why they don't go direct to a shipper? they said most required a larger company before they would deal direct.PM with your contact info I would be interested in helping you out and possibly passing it on to others.The loads I were hauling last fall show the same rates now as they did and in one case they lowered it by $200.00

    I guess it depends on where you are and what you are doing.

    If anyone in open deck takes anything for less than $2.50mi right now your doing something wrong. Personally,.. both me and my driver have not moved a single load for under $3mi going on 7 weeks straight now,.. with several "Short" hauls (Under 400mi) that paid $6 - $7mi.

    Best one so far was a 38k 4inch steel slab. 10'2 wide, needed to be tarped. Picked up in Coatsville,.. went up to Blasdell, Ny. $2800 on 341mi.

    I normally dont do this,.. but there is more than enough to go around. Chicago and PA are 2 very hot spots right now. Pa to Chicago,.. 34k legal load,.. no tarp. $2200 on 690mi. Chicago to Tampa,.. 42k,.. legal load,. $3900 on 1200mi. Thats my next 2 loads right there.

    Heading home and taking a couple weeks off.
