That looks like excellent revenue to me. Excellent month.

As mentioned bottom line ( net ) is what matters. I mean you had to have netted 22K or 23K or moar before taxes. How can anyone not like that?

Of course this is TTR, so that's laundry money for most.

Fuel. The other thing that's over looked with good fuel economy, is your engine isn't working nearly as hard. That is also huge.

Here's our last Master Trip we just completed.

The difference in fuel cost is basically I get two free trips across the U.S. for the same fuel cost for the gallons you used.

Just to put it in perspective.

My next truck will have a 12.7. That's the best I can do, I think. I just don't want a new truck. I know that might sound stupid, considering this is a business, and I should use the best tools available to be most efficient. But I don't want a new truck, and you can't make me!!!!!!!!!!!

The only time worse MPG might make sense is if you run 150-200 miles a day and go home
OTR and MPG is all the difference

I have all new gear and run faster than I usually should but I still get over 7.5 and if I run closer to 65-67 it starts to do better at around 8.5 plus

I figure every 1mpg nets me about $1200 per month back to the bank but that would vary depending on miles ran and fuel cost
Higher the fuel and miles and the savings would increase

I save about $25,000 per year or more over what my friends spending on fuel alone

I'm not a new truck fan either. I am a fan of keeping one's eye open, and having the money on hand to snatch up a bargain when the opportunity presents itself. I'm driving a '14.

You know how trucks seemed to get 5-6mpg pretty much forever, and all the sudden you see them getting 10mpg in some cases? About what year did this start happening? I'm flexible on my next truck, but not very. I really don't want to buy anything newer than 2006. I don't care about ELOGs. I care about DPF.

I got 6 to 7 when I started in '05. Things kind of went 7ish pretty fast after that. My cruising speed is 65 ( 1400 RPM ). Some loads are 15Kish, some are 32Kish, and some are near gross 79Kish. I was at 8.3 until the last leg home. WTF wind in face and crosswind for 800 miles took 3/10's mile off the whole trip.

Sounds crazy but I wouldn’t worry about fuel too much. You can easily add 50-100 dollars on to the rate to cover it.

It's alright. You didn't really hijack it, because I'm open to all viewpoints regarding this. It's one of my weakest points. Glad to have a discussion about it. And you certainly didn't offend.

The main point of the post was "is this 'good' money"? When I was in the oilfield, people would ask me about the money. I would say "I make a lot of money, but it isn't 'good' money". They ask what I mean, and I'd tell them "Is $200k per year good money when you're averaging 120 hours per week?" Yeah, I stacked a lot of cash in the bank. But at what cost?
