    It is all independent and so it cost lots of money to get things rolling again. It is not like they shut in a bunch of wells and stopped producing oil. They stopped production when it was not stable and let lots of people go. Now you have to find the qualified people to put back to work and also train new people since you cannot afford to hire good people that was let go and moved on because they where tired of the hit and miss in the field. They will need to know for sure that it is a long term situation so they can invest back into drilling, frac, and production side. It is a lot of work and time to start and finish a well and set up for the production side. Most of the companies stopped investing into new wells since this administration is not to be trusted with production. It would be like you investing all of your money as a one truck guy that does OTR and buying a Tesla 250 Mile truck. You will not last very long before you go under since the cost to start up would be crazy and then no way to charge the thing and keep it running.

    Most of our domestically produced oil is being sold to Europe for high dollars right now.

    Ok I went over to Freightliner yesterday and after I left. I'm thinking if your truck is up and no just shutting down randomly. You might be ok. They aren't making a lot of trucks, about 50% of pre covid production, so trucks are still tight. We might be ok. At least until the chip issues get resolved. China doing random shut downs will only help the shortage of trucks continue.

    One can look at it this way;
    God has given this vast land natural resources which should benefit the people - the folks- living on the land.
    I mean people, not a few usurpers, who one way or another put the stakes on the land and said it was theirs. It is theirs now, all right, but they should not forget that they are part of the folks.
    Strategic natural resources should be a matter of national security.
    The same goes for agriculture and e.g. cattle and wheat growers, first you need to feed (sell to) the folks and only left overs should be exported to overseas.
    The above is nothing but chauvinism but when Bismarck united Germany as a state, their national anthem was sounding "Duestchland, Duestchland Über alles, Über alles in der Welt" not meaning that they are better than Jews or Slavs, but rather that they count as first to take care of. A citizen should devote his life and business to benefit the nation, not only his greed.

    I agree with you TallJoe, but sadly that ship has sailed.
    Not only are American corporations citizens of the world but so are 90% of our elected officials.
    The truck has left the road and the only thing we can do is hold on and hope we survive.

    Due to refining. Our refineries are not set up for our "sweeter" crude.
