When the rates are down, being in the transportation sector of the economy feels even more disenchanting.
A person might feel rejected and insignificant. I went to a barber shop the other day and wondered if his services could bear more universal significance from the one of a owner operator - reflected in his part of how the path of civilizational progress is being paved. The universal significance does not have to be reflected in monetary terms at all. I am sure that long time ago, being a smith was an honorable trade, they did all the good hard work, perhaps they were not as rich as masons, but just as important nonetheless. But that trade is no more, it practically died when horses were replaced by motor vehicles.

That would mean more booz being sold. You know to compensate for the makeup less ones.

Be a good time to buy a Truckload of the right product, and sell it myself. Might just end up with a real Business out of it. Instead of just providing a service for others making the real money.

If things get too bad and I have to park it I plan on turning wrenches again. Will focus on diesel repair this time instead of gas. So far, my regular brokers are keeping things good but if they were to go away there's nothing going on here at all.

It seems like the repair shops in Chicago area are having the best time of their lives. It's been like that for quite a while.

I set up a round for Monday. Been home 2 weeks. Might work the holiday weekend. Depends what I can find. It’s a bit tight, only working 1/2 the time. Just glad I have a low house payment, and no car or equipment payments.

A tough spot to be in these days...

Shippers are selling too I heard.

My broker doesn't have the load I used to carry anymore. One shipper combined the load with multiples stops. People are cutting corners everywhere...

Just get tired of feeding the troll.

Work is still there, if you're willing to work it.

Edit: Surely slowing though. The big construction jobs are slacking, so steel and lumber are dropping off. Load board freight is getting picked up quicker.
