Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

Oh, do I remember. A guy I knew from my trout farming days was running an outfit in Twin Falls and got that education, in excruciating detail!

 

I was leased to an outfit out of Twin and we were running a lot of swinging meat out of Walula to LA and would run 95 in Nevada. This was when IFTA had just started. There was a reservation fuel stop north of Walker Lake that we would fuel at. At first we didn't give it much thought, and then the question about the tax being paid came up. We got away with what we had purchased in the past, but we're told that future purchases from the rez would have the tax deducted from our settlements.

 

Sop... I’m starting to see a few with “rate firm” in the comments.

 

It's routine operation for a very large percentage of loadboard postings in my experience. Bottom feeder brokers love to play games when they think the market is in their favor.

 

You mean rates actually go up and down and fluctuate? OMG you are a genius. Why didn't any one else ever figure this out.

 

going to be really good when fuel drops and rates drop even more, guys will get squeezed out, capacity will tighten, and back up on the next cycle
