$8300 this week for 2500 miles (w/ dh) at 3.30 per mile. Have to sit on a load from fri - mon to deliver. Seemed ok but I am going to get a bad start to next week. Iam near the bay area and the loads are as cheap as I have seen them ever. Used to be able to get 3.50-4.00 going to Denver from here fairly easy. Now they are trying to offer 2.50 per mile to go to Denver (yea right)

It's around 1300 up to Seattle to get on the boat. Funny how they don't mention that.

Cheap ### boat. Might want to change that to $285,000. That buys a respectable boat.

Just saw one of these YouTube truckers about to go out of business. His fixed costs are $2.59 per mile, his equipment payments are $4500 a month. He went out when rates were at historic levels, and bought his “dream truck”, now that rates are normalizing he sees the writing on the wall.

I don’t like to see people fail, but guys like this have no clue about the reality of running a profitable business. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, anyone with a pulse and half a brain could make money over the last three years with the way rates were, but now only the prepared and fiscally disciplined will survive the next 12 to 18 months. I’m sure there are literally thousands of other owner operators in the same boat as this guy.

Right now there's guys considering leasing with Schneider and paying $5200 a month for truck payment alone!

Some people willing to pay any price possible for the dream of being an owner operator only the find out later it's a nightmare if you've got high costs to go along with cheap rates.

He gets to that number by including his household expenses. I told him, your first mistake is combining business and household expenses. A mistake many make, and a recipe for disaster.
