I had some free time yesterday so I did some surfing in the truck paper..
I only surf the Peterbilt pages .. JMO. but guys are still asking way to much for the 379's ..seen alot of 100k plus older.. average... higher miles 379's north of the 100 mark
I have 2 friends that both have 379's for sale right now.. and knowing the history on both these trucks 60k is the top end of their value.. 1 friend wants 80k the other wants 90k for a shinny wore out problem child
    I wish them both luck
the economy has thinned down the herd of fools with a checkbook

There's certainly still a truck load of them out here.

And the foreigners are only going to expand. At least they have the ability to bathe and eat now, in relative safety.

They never had it so good.

Just as happened before, the survival of the fittest, might surprise a lot of folks on who's in shape.

There is really nobody to blame, not even the brokers. The economy simply slowing down.
All the free and easy covid money is gone and now we are paying the price with runaway inflation and higher interest rates.

I'm still doing OK. Just doing more OD and 8 foot tarp loads being regular freight is starting to suck.

    Rideandrepair and 48Packard Thank this.

I also wonder where all these supposed low mileage trucks are that are going for cheap now.

I've seen a handful that have under 200K on them, and they are gone quickly and still fetching a good price.

Now there's truck loads of them at 600K+ miles, and they're still asking at least twice, three times, what they would have two years ago.

And there's still no new one's. Not freightshakers anyway.

JoeyJunk, 48Packard and BoostedTeg Thank this.

Last time I was home I visited with my friend that runs tankers. He’s waiting for 2 more new Pete’s to show up sometime this year, he’s ordered a couple KW’s for delivery next year, and is waiting to hear what Peterbilt releases for build slots for 2023. I imagine companies trying to replace trucks or expand are getting their hands on some of the low mileage ones.

I’ll just put my truck on top of a 20 foot container and zip on there
