I’m loading a customer load out of Tacoma tomorrow that’s slightly better than the examples posted. Lol.

Yeah, it’s offset our own carrier declines but the problem is cheap brokers are beating customer doors down and it’s hard for cracks not to show when they are saying they can move it for half price or less by utilizing dollar haulers. It all comes crashing down for everyone eventually. Maybe some freight is protected but easier to haul freight are inroads toward tougher to haul freight.

Funny thing is a broker told me last week 1800 is the best she can do, while I’m looking at the load on their own board for $2200 book it now.

Not in Winter time. I made a lot of money coming out of the Northwest during the winter because so many drivers scared of snow and chains.

Hey i did power only and pulled vans up until spring.

I pay attention to multiple trailer types and regions of the country.

Maybe he was that guy that tried to go over 299W from Redding barefoot. Chains were required in about five different places but the truck I'm thinking of never made it past the first one. The chain signs were up but nobody was there to enforce it so our hero didn't bother.
Spun out, jack-knifed, slid halfway off the road. CalTrans pushed him the rest of the way off the road, CHP gave him a ride back to Redding and a big ticket.
It was a week before CalTrans cleared enough snow from around the truck that a wrecker could get to it.

I only booked loads when the mountains were in the all clear during winter.
Still have to carry chains out there though.
