No but I was working in the transportation business closely with truckers and steamship operators at the time. It spiked up quickly I remember and was later found to have been caused by Wall St. speculators (essentially) and didn't last too long IIRC. Probably adjusted for inflation the all-time high in 2008 was worse than now but this is just getting started.

But the long term crash of the economy and the freight market lasted for #### near 18 months. Fuel did come down, but that was because the bottom fell out of the economy. Trucking was a blood bath.

We can handle somewhat higher fuel, the real danger is the long term economic effects on consumer spending.

You've been complaining about rates for a long while. Like years!!!

My guess is, You won't go here, You won't go there, You won't do this, or You won't do that...

The only thing you will do is complain that ya can't make any money.

This isn't about what is happening in this exact moment.

It is about what is COMING.

Inflation, rising fuel prices, wars, world instability, none of these are positive indicators. And there are no indicators that any of this will improve.

    Quite the opposite.

It’s gonna be ok though. I was listening to Road Dog this morning and a caller said just say no to cheap freight.

What really surprises me is the banks that finance these over priced equipments.

They don't do regular financing, they ask for over 40% down payment.

I dunno man the numbers still don’t add up because if the market crashes the truck isn’t going to be valued enough to cover the balance.

And what am I supposed to do about it? Too much going on to waste time worrying about it, or worrying about somebody else spending too much.

If it happens it does. Gotta roll with the punches
