That’s the garbage freight anyone can get. Find out who it is, and you can probably get a foot in the door. I know of 2 Shippers like that. I’m sure I could find more if I tried. I tried to haul some Christmas Trees direct this year., Got a few bites. None worth doing though. I should probably look into the 2 again. Even the crappy freight might be better than the Brokers rates. The good thing about those places is they always have plenty of Loads. They’ll send a list, to you, along with probably 40 others, mostly Brokers. Hard loads to move once the Brokers step on it.

They did that back in the late 2000’s. They’ve always been cheap for dry vans, but they got real cheap. So cheap, I haven’t worked for them since. Last quote I got from them was a load of watermelons, a load they didn’t even have. Must have been 2006, or 2007. Everyone posts those loads, and if they get a Truck, they make a bid. They offered me a Georgia to NJ load for $1800. I found out who the Shipper was by accident from a Guy at a local Trailer repair shop, while buying vents to install on my trailer. He took my number, I got a call from a farmer. Told him I only wanted to haul, not buy watermelons. He gave me the Shippers number, a Buyer/Broker for a major east coast Grocery chain. Got the same Load for $3200. Ran back, got paid, and ran another. Found another direct Shipper, a watermelon Farm in Delaware. Did a couple loads from them. Only done watermelons one year since. Had a good rate on loads going to Canada, that year. Took a few loads to a warehouse near home. I once mentioned to an Owner of a Company near home, that I used Trinity quite a bit. Oh you poor #######, he said. Lol. He was right. I understand. though. Hard to forget when someone really tries to take advantage. I’d haul a load for them tomorrow though, if it paid good.

I remember them from my dry van days. They never really did much in the oversize segment until about 2-3 years ago. They won a big caterpillar contract. Caterpillar freight has always been beat down for the most part, but Trinity has taken it to a whole new level.
