I enjoyed JBH until they gave me a new top of the line truck.

Cause it came with a bottom of the feeder fleet manager.

Well, they told me they were governed at 68 (really 62).
They told me I would get 1 day off for every 5 days out and I wouldnt be out more than 10 days because they didnt want the truck sitting more than that (was out 23 straight and I had to fight to get home then).
They said I would get 2500 miles a week (my BEST week was 1400).

3 strikes and you are out. I fired them.

The straw that broke my back:
I pick up a load of rum in Canada and bringing it back to Little Rock (why they didnt ship it from Jamaica to N.O. and truck it from there, I have no idea) on Thursday and reminded my fleet manager that I had an 8am dentist appt monday morning. Ok, I will put it in the computer that you need to be home monday. No, I says, put it that I have to be home SUNDAY - my appt is 8am. Ok.
So I get to Little Rock friday afternoon. Another dispatcher (not my fleet manager who was gone for the weekend) grab this and take it to Va. Beach. No, I says, I have to be home for a dentist appt monday morning, its in the computer. Grumble, grumble. Ok, let me get back to you. Couple hours later, take this up to Quincy IL. Get there sat, dead head up to Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids. Get there Sunday afternoon, they have an office there. I check in. We have a load to Minneapolis loading at 12. Ok fine, I get some sleep. Get up just before midnight, go to the office, its closed. Wander around the place until I find someone that knows whats going on. Nope, loads at NOON tomorrow. Ok, bye.

Deadheaded home and left the truck in their "yard" (they had a few parking spots at Blaine Brothers - its a truck repair place) and left the keys in the ashtray.

Edit: There were some messages exchanged back and forth on the Qualcom enroute...

My junk mail has decreased since I started emailing back, I’d send them back $4100

How's everyone doing? Working through the 4th or off? How bout it @DUNE-T are van rates still bad? Or did you lease onto Schneider with Dave? :)

For the country currently in build back better mode and this being flatbed season...I'm speechless...

Think I'm gonna be like a grizzly bear this winter and hibernate because if summer is like this, I'm terrified to think what winter looks like for flatbed.

Might be time to perfect my poker game this winter....

Nothing worth pulling on the 4th for me. Might go out tomorrow for a day and come right back and take weekend off. Have a decent load for Monday so cant complain I guess.

A90FE580-8C73-4FB5-A4BF-B1C45C0C39E4.jpeg Working. Had a slight snag in Cincinnati on my way down. Guess I should have blocked it. Too late to rent a pallet jack, no way to move it. Decided to run with it. Trailer was twisted up, leaning pretty good. Definitely looked real bad going down the road. No other choice. Under the guise of darkness, and stormy weather, Down through Jellico, the Gourge, and 26 into Georgia. 600 miles pure unwanted excitement. Trooper U turned in front of me about 3 miles from Consignee. It was daylight by then. Backed off it, let him go. Lol. Outlaw stuffs no fun when it’s your name/ numbers on the line.
