    Preferential payment rule, Basically it all goes back into a pool so
    Everyone they owe can get something out of it or they can pay someone else first before you

    But is it the brokers fault or our brethren that haul it for 7-800? That’s the million dollar question. I understand you blaming the broker, but I put the blame on the carriers

    "Oridnary course of business" is exempted from this. As long as the carrier didn't have a personal relationship or get paid in full after the debtor stopped paying other creditors the money can't get clawed back.

    I doubt any carrier is at risk of having checks "uncashed"

    Well Market price is Market price. You either compete or refuse to participate. No magic formula or technique. It’s all supply and demand. The fact that the load paid $800 not $675 was a plus in this Market. It’s easy to say what someone should do, or my favorite “What I would do”. Reality is you can only do what’s possible. Often it’s not what you would prefer. It’s reality not fantasy. I’m sure no one else but myself would have pulled the Load for less than $1500. They would have DH home spending $125 on fuel instead. Then claim good Business practice.

    That’s an idea. I’m not sure how my Authority would be affected. I’ve heard of being treated like a new entry if insurance is allowed to lapse. FMCSA has a notice about some new rule. Insurance is $940. Parking $150. Even though Truck and Trailers paid for, it costs about $3000 per mo. fixed cost for everything including health insurance for Me to be Independent. Might get away with $2000, if parked. The dilemma is I need to be home as much as possible right now. I also need flexibility. Not many jobs allow that. A midnights position might be best. There’s a few different thing’s available. I just don’t believe they’re advertising. I see a Truck like mine just sold for $47k on Truckpaper auction. Might just be my only option. I’ve been O/O for 27 years. Independent for 19 years. It’s hard to make a decision or change.

    I’m doing alright. Definitely has slowed down. I’m doing as well as I am because very little of my freight comes from a load board. That is mainly just a byproduct of being in business for 16 years and building connections.

    I still check the boards and it’s pretty dismal. But occasionally I will snag a decent load from there, but it’s at my rate.
    I have the luxury to do that. I know everyone doesn’t. It’s been a long grind to get here and I’m aware it can all change in an instant.
