Despite all the doom and gloom, I choose to be optimistic. I have 2 young children and a wife to support. I’ve made it thru hard times and started with nothing. Gotta keep on trucking and moving forward. Hope for the best.

Yup, will cost me $0 a day to turn the plates in and stick her in the barn, she doesn’t need to work for free

It's like $5/gal everywhere now or will be in a week. Just for fun I checked prices at some of the haunts I used to frequent, or at least drove by regularly. Lets start with the one closest to my house:

    Loves Goshen, IN: $4.85
    Sapp Brothers Peru, IL: $4.50
    T/A Walcott, IA: $4.79
    Sinclair Little America, WY: $4.60
    Pilot Biggs Junction, OR: $4.76
    Pilot Ellensburg, WA: $5.26
    Pilot Miles City, MT: $4.10
    Petro 2 Clearwater, MN: $4.39
Flying J South Beloit, IL: $4.90
    Pilot Austintown, OH: $4.95
    Pilot Hebron, OH: $5.00
    Pilot Mill Hall, PA: $5.45

I think you get the idea. I won't even bother with CA. Probably like $6-7 by now. (Fool me can't get fooled again!)

Not overpriced, just priced for the market.
In 1966 you could buy a brand new optioned out mustang for $2k. Now the are like $80k and the bank is still financing them all the same. You can't live in the past or you'll be left behind. Things change.

that I get, but one is a personal vehicle the other a commercial. There are different standards for financing them and calculating rates. Unless the banks think inflation is here to stay which they do, they also believe prices aren't going to drop even if the market does.

In other words it seems as if they know more than us at the moment.

Alright, how much was a brand new w900a I'm the 70s? I'm betting it wasn't any where close to the $200k...ish they are now. There is always inflation. Now there are just other factors. Besides, you pay the price or go without.....your choice. Eventually you need one, so you pay the price.

your talking about a 100k difference between 2020-2021 and 2022 prices.

the thing is when the market crashes and it will these trucks will be upside down, just like the housing market in 2008.

that’s what I’m saying, how are the banks financing it knowing that the industry itself is in a bubble.

Broker just agreed to $1000 more on a 2800 mile load I've done 4 or 5 times already in the past year. Should cover the fuel increase with a little left over to make up for inflation.
