You are right. I blame the politicians and everyone that looks the other way as trucking is no longer a viable industry if you are a citizen.

 

Euros were cheap 10-20 years ago, but not anymore. Look around, all their white Volvos are new nowadays.
The new cheap guys are Africans and Indians

 

Some people dont want to admit the truth. I have been saying this for a while but was told I was nuts. We have seen were they have handed out licenses illegally so what makes someone think they arent still doing it somewhere?? They dont care if they get caught anyway. They know nothing will be done to them and they just create a new name….

 

It's the highest paying job you can get without English or any job experience. It's a no brainer for a fresh immigrant to become a truck driver. Pretty much right of the boat you can get $5-10k per month.
Heck even if you are born here, but are stupid and got no high school diploma, where do you go to earn a livable wage?

A lot of the Punjabi’s want to build lives in America. They bring their families over. I would say look more at Ukrainian, Russian, and the stans. The ones that don’t have any intention to live in the US. Those Punjabi’s driving the pimped out trucks are not the problem. They got to make money to pay for all the nice new equipment. Look at the guys that drive the things stuck with duct, tape and guys half naked wearing flip-flops. They are only here for work and fly home to their families. If they break the law here or hurt somebody it’s no big deal. They just go home. They are not vested.

 

Which is a huge problem. You are supposed to be proficient in English. That’s actually the law. It’s just not enforced.

 

I don’t think many laws are enforced anymore… I don’t even think DOT barely does checks anymore. Seems like everywhere I go all I hear is an air dryer kicking off every few seconds. I can hear air leaks walking around every parking lot and I don’t have the best hearing. I know I’m not the only one out here noticing..

I think a lot of it has to do with respect. If you come to a country, especially ignoring their laws and customs and get a handout, you will not be respected. If you just work there and send the money and your self home like a parasite… and the local population is your competition, the local population is not going to show respect. When someone comes into a country and serves before they ask for something they will earn respect.
