If they double brokered the load, chances are they signed an agreement that prohibits it to begin with. I once caught a Landstar agent double brokering. We cut him out, without notice or explanation. Sue me. Lol.

I would not have any moral qualms whatsoever to back solicit a shipper. Unless legal repercussions would make it not worth the hassle, I'd go for it.

The argument "We did the work and you steal..." is not something that can persuade me. Somehow, I dont feel like a thief...as a matter of fact, it feels like a win; they want me, and they don't want them. It's all that matters. Ultimately, it is up to the customer who they want to pay.

HEY Mr. Broker, You did the "hard" work? Guess what, not hard enough.

That's a dirty low down way to do business. Smacks of laziness. You can't go knock on doors yourself? In all likelihood any shipper lowdown enough to even entertain it probably would be a match made in heaven anyways.

All signs point to head gasket now. It was combustion gasses. Eliminated EGR and the other things. Today they are getting the head off and will be able to see most likely what happened. Im $4000 in once they get the head off. Now I hope its just the gasket so I can leave out door with only $10k into it and not get more bad news.

Nah. I call it opportunity. That's like disconnecting leeches. Feels good too!
I'm the one doing the hard work...the real work that is.
Ultimately it is up to the customer.
Yeah, I can knock on the door and can do this too.
    Free market. Capitalism. Competition. Hello?!
You ended up driving for Walmart, you won't school me about business...which is anyway dirty all the way through. There's no room for chivalry.

I ran my business for many years with integrity. I never back doored anybody's business. That's a quick way out of business. Wouldn't be surprised if you're already redflagged by brokers anyways. Not very smart when you don't even have any of your own business and depending on them now you're going to scoop up some bottom feeder directs. Good luck with that game plan.

It is never black and white. These things happen rarely and are quite spontaneous.
All of a sudden you hear from a good friend his son becomes a shipping manager...then why the hell not ask?
Oh...wait...no, I can't, I covered one load for TQL 6 months ago, after which they filed the bogus claim of me arriving late and the production shut down, so they never paid.

Integrity on the freight market and dealing with brokers?! Too much to ask. To survive you must learn their own squandrel game. Because that's what it takes. Maybe you're too honorable and too decent, so you're out.

I would not steal a friend's gig or steal the last cow from a peasant' ranch. Other than that everything is about being a predator or a prey. It is naive to think otherwise. That's how they built America, didn't they?

Do whatever. I don't think people that built something from nothing take them kind of shortcuts but maybe I am naive.

but the second to last is okay? Or it’s okay to steal the last cow from a rich man’s ranch?

    either way you’re a ###### thief
