I was reading the article and literally lol when I saw the person heading up the program is named Dorcas. I bet he had a tough child hood.

Seems along the same lines as FedEx ground home deliveries. Get someone to buy a route, buy a bunch of vans and pay someone way less than they should be paid to deliver packages for them.

I emailed a guy about a load today. He told me the rate was 9 grand. I told him I was thinking 11. He had room to go 11 because he didn’t say No. 20 minutes later it was gone. Probably for 9500 and probably by some guy that complains about rates and broker transparency.

Yep. It caters to idiots. A lot of things are just how the hosts talk to people. They set a tone for callers to act. Granted this is my opinion from 5 years ago.

Honestly? This is the first I've heard about this silliness. I don't think there'll be much traction in this. I remember a while ago, everyone was hopping on the "track the truck" band wagon, and at the last company, we signed on with TextLocate, because cost reasons, I suspect. Turns out it was pricey for people to not even use it, because the drivers didn't want to text in or whatever with their locations. The good idea fairies frequently strike when noone is watching, but seldom are able to stick around.

Typically Safety, Brokers, Dispatchers, turn a blind eye, play dumb, or ignore any possible violations of the regulations in order to get the load delivered. The less they know the better. Seems something like this would put the Broker on the hook. Blur lines. Making them possibly liable along with the Carrier.

    D.Tibbitt and 77fib77 Thank this.

Not much of a rate increase as far as what I have seen. One thing I have seen is the super Low ball are coming to an end. So that is at least something positive.

That was me that got the load. I did it for $9001 because my next load got me to Missouri to help out a friend who has a YouTube channel that died.

He promised me a pan of lasagna and some wallaby pelts that I can sell to offset the deadhead costs. I'm barely holding on so anything helps.

I heard about the death of that channel. The last interview was a real nail biter. I thought for sure YouTube would have signed on for another season

exhausted379, Gatordude, PPLC and 3 others Thank this.
