I didn’t reply to you to prove you or anyone else was wrong. Just wanted to show you who the culprit was spreading the driver shortage bs. They ( ATA ) have been throwing around different numbers for awhile, just depends on which way the wind is blowing.

That’s the real story of our Manufacturing Base. I watched deck lids being stamped out by robots at Chrysler Stamping plant 30 yrs ago. Same job that took 9 people, had 1 Worker attending the machines. Occasionally adjusting the sheet metal. Used to be able to walk around most plants and observe the processes. It’s amazing. The Technology is the prize in Manufacturing these days. Michigan has held onto a lot of the Technology. Almost all the foreign US headquarters are here. They provide good paying jobs. Not enough to replace unskilled Labor. The result is a wider economic gap, more and more working poor. Costs money to live in a decent safe area with decent schools. Takes everything an average worker earns. Median income in Michigan is $63k, SE Michigan $69k. About $1060 take home. Per week. Less after health insurance deductions. Hardly enough to raise a family.

The plant I’m working out of right now has had a few power outages. Very convenient timing. Things are very slow. Workers are told to stay home. Everyone else’s power is on, no problems. I suspect a breaker is turned off. Much easier way to cut payroll than layoffs. Last night power was out again. This time at another plant. Outside power only. I suspect more cost savings. It’s obvious Management has no idea what’s going on. All they know is to push push push. The results are everyone working against each other. Blaming one another. It’s inefficient. The workers are all busy covering their ###’s, passing the Buck, instead of working together. I got to get out of here!! Lol.

Automated factory jobs coming back isn't a bad thing. You have to have machinists to make those machines and make the replacement parts and you have to have maintenence techs to keep the machines maintained. Those are much better jobs than the the 6 or 7 jobs that the automated machines replaced. Productivity is higher and costs for products is lower. Those 6 or 7 people can go to technical school if inclined to do so and get those kind of jobs themselves.

TL carrier Pamt books another loss in Q1

In the part I circled below from the article, they're referring to six straight quarters right?

Considering 1/3 of its business is auto industry, IMO not looking good for them...

That’s more than enough to raise a family. You just don’t have to have everything your heart desires. Work, come home and play some board games with your kids. Take them on the ice to do some skating. Nothing wrong with some pond hockey or taking them to go fishing. Fill up the freezer with game or work in the garden in can/freeze some vegetables. You don’t have to have every possession out there. Can’t take none of that with you to heaven anyway.
