Yea i have friend whos looking for part time. Just someone to go around town and load for us. Loaded in Elmira yesterday for Wilmington Monday, reload in philly for Waverly Ny. 1600 for round. Getting lucky doing a lot of fcfs, empty by 7-8am and picking up close by.

One regular run down to jersey city im in and out 45min, head 15min up the road to load liquid totes for rochester, usually loaded in 20 min or less. Knock on wood. Maybe beginners luck lol will see.

 

How much money are you spending on tolls running that area?

 

Pa pike is 40 some cents a mile. Mass pike to 290 and back is like 38 or something. Reasonable unlike pa. I avoid jersey pike (my dad ran that area almost exclusively since 82 doing LTL then a union steel hauler. we know all the short cuts around that area 7 bucks back then for the gw) 20 to leave jersey.

 

I was being sarcastic about the rates going down, don't know how to use the sarcasm button on the keyboard. The thread is about rates being low after all.

Do you think that all of them are willingly taking lower rates for the heck of it? That they are dumb and only a few have privilege of this "education"?
No. No. Nobody's dumb enough not to want more money.
It is inability to get paid more and having to keep current with their bills that force them to do so.
