From my standpoint, I'm loving this market. It's honestly currently a ton of fun, and I'm in the midst of some personal best numbers. I'm making more money, and my carriers are making more money.
Rates are starting to skyrocket already

There's lots of opportunities out there. Run a lot, a little or somewhere in between.
I decided awhile back to stay closer to home in order to spend more time with my family and have some semblance of a normal life.
Revamping the way I do business has been necessary in order to acheive that goal. Fortunately, the rates and learning how to work smarter, not harder, are making it possible.Lite bug, DieselDrivinDaddy, chimbotano and 2 others Thank this. -

According to Crop website truck load rates are high. For example Central Fl to Boston markets pay 6000.00. Loadboards paying 2mi. Because its the norm for FL. So brokers intend to keep it the Norm. Now in OH a load to Fl usually pays 2800 + now its 1.60mi because FL is booming . At 2mi I guess .

No drivers intend to keep it normal by pulling it for that much.DSK333 Thanks this.

So if you get stuck out in one of those snow storms you'll have plenty to eat and drink?Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

In my area, I avoid those 2 like the plague.
They literally load you heavy and pay crap, plus wait times are to the wahzoo.
I'll gladly take 20Klbs load for $1200, run it 400 miles, then snag 10Klbs for $1500, "backhaul".
No need to stress my horse.exhausted379, DSK333 and QuietStorm Thank this. -
Well, certainly entrenched markets are going to resist change. And Florida as a market hasn't changed all that much. There's still more loads going in than coming out and that drives rates, there.
That isn't to say that it isn't costing brokers more to move freight out of there than it did this time last year, but frankly that's true everywhere.DSK333 Thanks this. -
Wow that's some big money.

Resist yes, but change they will. And it's the direct shippers that have to bump it up exponentially cause they need a truck.
