Is it considered solicitation if I’m hauling for my customer, a brokerage, and the shipper asks for our business card?

    DSK333 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

It's fuzzy. I'd say no, not technically. A case can be made for it, the other direction, though. I can tell you as a broker, I'd hope that you'd explain to them about the non-solicitation cause in your contract, as long as the broker has upheld their end of things.

Is the same crap here in Utah .
Some brokers call me to offer me a reefer Loads for less than 2 per mile and I told them to their own truck and haul their loads.
They told me that most of their loads are yearly contracts and they offer to shippers haul it for cheap so they can secure their business.
Why the brokers are willing to move loads for cheap?????
BECAUSE MOST OF IS ARE WILLING TO HAUL IT FOR ALMOST NOTHING!!!!
So, who is creating this problem? Can you guess?????
I rather go empty to CA or AZ to get good paying loads than creating problems for the rest of us. I refuse to do that!!!

Incidentally, the load I was talking about originates in Utah. I'm not wasting my time and reputation begging a carrier to take it. I don't need the money that much.

To me is not too much about the money. Is about the right thing to do.
I work hard when the Loads pay good or better. I save and when the pay is no good, I park my equipment and stay busy at home with my family and etc etc. For instance this year 2018 I run so far about 14,000 Miles . As soon as the rates get up. I will work hard.

Lite bug, DSK333 and PPLC Thank this.

Sure, totally get that and appreciate it. But for every customer who sends me horrible rates, I have two or three more who sends loads that are worth the time and effort to cover. Time is money. Time wasted trying to broker a load where I'm likely to lose money is time poorly spent.

    Sirscrapntruckalot and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Not to mention it may give you the appearance of not being able to get the job done.

    Ikr?

    im rolling in dough...lmao

My point was: your load specialization pays crap, in my lanes, so im better off with lighter van loads.

And no, i dont need to haul heavy to get decent rates
