here is my 3 month review of raven..with the understanding I came in at the worst time of year for freight.
take it for what it's worth this is my experience here at raven. 2100-2260 miles a week. no matter how often or how well you plan your PTA (projected time of availability) if I had my notebook I could give you actual miles for every week I have been here since nov. 2015.

you do as much waiting for a load as you do driving. get dispatched you wait sometime hours for a load to be loaded drive 450-555 miles to deliver or drop/hook a load wait some more. drive again 450-555 miles and you wait some more. often 10-15 hours just to pick up a pre-loaded trailer you deliver that load either live unload or drop/hook and you wait some more for your next load. on occasion there will be times were thing will tick right along and you can drop/hook and drop/hook or live unload then deadhead someplace to pick up a pre loaded trailer that is ready.but for me as of lately that has not been the case.please understand I'm not saying this is typical I'm just saying this has been the way it has been for me.

the equipment is nice except for the fact of the maxforce engines or issues they are having with the LNG trucks .they have
international prostars, LNG peterbilts, and a few volvos, I think they are working on phasing out. they are suppose to be getting several new trucks in sometime around March-Aprilish not certain of what kind so I can't comment much on that.I heard new Internationals and diesel powered peterbilts.Don't hold me to it that is just what I heard.

office personnel are respectful to their drivers. it is one of the very few places I have worked that has a true open door policy.
    from the CEO on down.

this is my opinion of Raven Transport. the miles could be a lot better.my opinion again pre-planning could be a lot better
but have to say probably still the best company I have drove for in my 25 yrs. out here in this crazy world of trucking.

once more this is only a 3 month review and it has been the slow time of year...Stay tuned 6 month review comes in May and I am optimistic for now it will get better.

It's definitely been slow. When I first started I was balls to the wall. Plant season is coming around soon so that should bring the miles wayyyyy up. Are you on the list for plant drivers?

Nice followup. It HAS been slow. The LNG road tractor is having issues for sure but I manage it. It'll do what I need it to do in the time allotted but it is having technical difficulties. Getting outta PA after the storms has jammed everything up downstream. I'm Indyish to Wally Sealy but my dm'll make the layover right because of delay. Safety Doc is the pimp, btw.

I tell you last 2 weeks have been pure hell I sat 24 hours on every single load B4 I could either deliver or pickup only minutes from either shipper or receiver and man let me tell you when my beer load wasn't ready that was suppose to get me home for home time wasn't ready, I wasn't just fuming. I was in flames...LOL. Thankfully though they took me off load and let me DH home.Good folks

I've not heard anything about raven selling out. Don't know if that would be a good thing or a bad thing

Well 7 months in. Things seem to be very slow here lately. But I believe it's slow everywhere. Have friends that drive for other companies different sectors of freight they say it has been slow for them also. Hoping after July 4th things will start picking back up. Guess just depends on where your at and type of freight your hauling. Raven is not perfect. But still believe it's a good fit for me. Anyone else here at Raven care to comment on their experience especially the last 6 to 8 weeks. Would love to hear it.

I always heard raven was decent until little guy was there but have to give them props for respecting years of service and dedication.(would love to know the real story some day..lol). the owners had another company called sliver eagle and about 15 or so years ago when they started raven they sold that company to Arnold(usx now) not saying those rumors are true small companies have lots rumors that stay around for years..
