Keep in mind being disabled is bad. But when you are working hard to over come it that's really good. Never forget that.

Hello all! My name is Roger Mackbach, and I am currently trying to get the SPE Certification process streamlined to make renewals not so burdensome. I am currently writing a research / opted paper on my experiences and the experiences of others. I encourage all to contact their senators and reps to have this changed to a reasonable level of compliance, one that does not require a 2 year renewal, or at the very least allows your PCP sign the renewal paperwork. Who here is with me?
I regained my CDL for Interstate travel after educating the State of Maine of the process, and the DOT had me speak at the April 2008 medical review board conference about driving with an amputation. I lost my right arm above the elbow, and drive an UNMODIFIED 10 speed manual transmission truck.
I own Compass Industries, and started the Truckers Unite Facebook group. I also founded www.helpforothers.org , so if you want to get involved, then hit me up! -
I can't belive the attitudes here. A driver is getting screwed over and everybody just saying get over it, suck it up yada yada.
It is not a matter of just taking a test he has done taken over, it will be a matter of coughing up the cash again, more than likely renting a truck to do it with, with money the guy may or may not have laying around.
I know when they first changed to the cdl, several amputees that had a commercial license for years had mortal hell getting a cdl, effectively putting them out of work, some for months.PoleCrusher Thanks this. -
Im curious if anyone has any advice.
Im a right above knee amp.
Ive passed my cdl schooling and ive got the cdl A.
Currently med card is out of date
because i cant get a new one till i get the spe completed.
Had a special waiver for training only but thats expired as well it was only for 2 months
Im waiting on the spe certification examiner fmcsa and state people to all get on the same page.
Its been a month since ive gotten the cdl
How long does it take for them to schedule this special test.
Has anyone found a way to get around doing this bs test every 2 years i dont really care about doing the test im tired of fmcsa wasting my time they have wasted about 5 months so far. -
Is there anything we can do to help?
The fmcsa takes way to long.
Curious how long does a renewal take?
I got told the test isnt a driving test but a simple test to see reflexes is that true?
