I figured I will put this out here to help anyone considering a good company to work for. I am posting my weekly earnings on here for each month of the year for 2013. There are several factors involved that help bump your pay up that I am not going to post because it would take too long to break all that down but I will lay out the pay scale for you.

    .46 cpm loaded
    .38 cpm empty
$20 load pay up to 2 hours then $14.65 per hour for every hour over the first two hours
$20 unload pay up to 2 hours then $14.65 per hour for every hour over the first two hours
$10 per night sleeper berth pay (yes they pay your for sleeping in your truck!)
Break down pay $14.65 per hour from the start of the break down until you get somewhere. Then you give up 14 hours (10 hour break plus 4 more hours) then paid for 10 hours. It keeps rotating like that (off 14, paid for 10) until you are back on the road. Same for all layovers, weather, no loads available, etc.
All major holidays are paid as well.

Since I am considered an OTR driver, the days I work local I only get paid at the $14.65 per hour rate which does not thrill me but better than nothing. Our strictly local guys make right at $19 per hour. Not sure why they do that or how they came up with it but it is what it is.

Also, prior to taxes being taken out, my gross pay checks are lowered by $55 for health insurance and 3% going into my 401k. Both of those are pre-taxed. I think that is standard anywhere.

Anyway, if I missed anything, Rob will probably help me out.

Depends on what part of Texas you are in. Here is a link to our Houston terminal. You can give them a call and they will be able to give you more information.

If you were to spend the whole week local, you get local driver pay. I'm not sure what the magic number or percentage is, but if the majority of your pay came from local hrs, you're automatically bumped up on your check.

I assume the higher rate is just incentive to get someone to do it. If I were older, and/or more frugal, I would be all over the local gig. As it is now though, I have to run the system to keep up my lavish lifestyle. :smt081

Nope. Never been in the military. Call the terminal and they can tell you a list of approved schools they hire out of. I think they only hire from technical schools if I remember correctly. They will not hire out of a fly by night school.

I hear ya. I think if I ran just straight system I could make a little more but I don't have any debt other than a house payment so I do pretty well with what I take in. I am not complaining. I read a thread over in the SNI section about a new driver reporting his experience. I felt so bad for him. I told him do a year there if he can take it and then come see us :yes2557:
