    Hey everyone!
I'm about to start at RDTC and found that I couldn't really find a comprehensive rundown of what it is like. So I decided to start a daily log of what happens there so people could have an idea of what the process is like.

Going to start today with the area and the hotel (seeing my first day is tomorrow). The hotel is about 5-10minutes away from roehl. If you are coming from the direction of Milwaukee you will actually pass Roehl on the way to the Hotel. The hotel is in decent shape and has a bar and grill type restaurant attached to it. The rooms are outfitted with a 32" LCD TV, a small microwave and a dorm-type fridge. No iron or ironing board in the room, but I'm sure you can get one from the front desk. You will actually use one of the two room keys they give you to power the room. The key goes into a slot next to the light socket and that supplies power to the fridge/ outlets/ etc. There is a Target across the street, in case there is anything you want/need to pick up still, and there is a laundry facility on the second floor of the hotel, with 3 dryers and 2 washers. They are by no means your traditional high capacity commercial washers and dryers , in fact they are sort of small. The washer is $2 a load and the dryer is $1.50. At this point in time, one of the washers is busted, so only one to use. The hotel does have laundry soap for sale, but i recommend going to target and getting your own (cheaper over the 3 weeks).

That's about all I have for today. If there are any questions that I have not answered about anything, post them on the forum and I will address them when I do my post tomorrow.

    F150Jim and goblue Thank this.

Well our RDTC class did a pretty good thread about this some 9 months ago but it's probably a good time for an update as things tend to change and you will not be blessed with the wicked cold winter weather we had. I really enjoyed my time in Marshfield at RDTC. 4 of the 6 in our class still run for Roehl and keep in touch from time to time on this forum. 2 did not make it. 1 was medical and we think the other just wasn't cut out for OTR. He did get his CDL however.

    Enjoy Special kase!

There is a laundromat just down the street from the hotel. I was there this morning, beats waiting for the hotel machines to open up.
There is a super Walmart just North of us here.
You'll like it here. The RDTC instructors are phenomenal!!!

Thanks for the rundown. I am waiting for my application and everything to go through. I was going to go to Millis which is a great company also, but Roehl is more Veteran (military) enhanced. Once again thanks for the rundown and I will be on this site checking the rundown out quite often. How is the weather up there? Also how many do you have in your class and is the instruction (training HIGH SPEED)?

We have 4, 2 per tractor. You drive second day in. Fast pace? Yes! Pay attention and learn from mistakes and you'll be fine. Check daily weather using weatherbug, it seems to be a little warmer than usual for this time of year, mornings cold though.

    Hey Noble,
I applied at Roehl also. I got the "approved" phone call and I go tomorrow for my physical. Once that is back to Roehl (3 to 4 days) I will get my notification about when I can start orientation up in Marshfield. This time of year, the weather should be decent for training. I will be coming up to training from Oklahoma, but I am originally from Michigan, so I know the COLD stuff shouldn't really hit until November.:biggrin_25524:
Good Luck. Let me know your progress. Who knows, we may be at Roehl training around the same time.
