Darn, those kinda issues are just about 'expected' in an International, but not a Pete.
As long as you're puttin' out 13.2 you should be fine, especially with new batteries.
Sometimes the mech's get lazy and want to change parts (batteries, alt, etc) rather than check for bad grounds and bad connections.

I don't know much about Hirschbach. Check them out as thoroughly as possible first. The forums can help.
Just hearing the words "driver retention program" kinda raises an eyebrow with me. May be nothing.

I have worked for Werner and Crete, my advice, jump the fence and do not look back, get as far away from Werner as possible. I worked for Werner for 4 weeks, that was 3 weeks 6 days 23 hours and 59 seconds to long. I jumped the fence and worked for Andrus out of Saint George, Utah. I am now working for Pride Transport out of West Valley, Utah. So far they are a great company! As long as you have a justifiable reason to leave, companies may ask why you are leaving, but I have never been classified as a fence jumper or a job hopper.

Good luck to you and hope you find what you are looking for.

Cajun, the way they out fit their trucks is how I meant by driver retention. Not to mention their retention bonuses. Their trucks come with APUS, fridges, DirectTV and most trucks have upgraded seats. From what I've gathered, Hirschbach had some troubles earlier in 2005-2006, but they've learned from their mistakes after loosing too many drivers. They're a smaller fleet, roughly 700 trucks.

    Understood now,, thanks for clarifying.
I did a quick check via FMCSA to look at their SAFER scores, and they have very respectable statistics. Not perfect, but decent.
(I always check HOS Compliance and Vehicle Maintenance stats, which are two good indicators of a carrier).

hey Dude I started out with Werner 10 years ago put my year in and got myself away from those loosers. I was eating Cheese Doddles to keep from starving! If I would have thought that I could have gotton another job on less than a year experience I would have been gone. To make a long story short I just did 2 years with Abilene from Richmond and I think their main dispatcher thinks he is God. they like to play too many foolish games with drivers if you can"t do a last minute run 6 hours before you go home. Their pay package sucks too, have to beg for detention time also.

Anybody have any good ideas for a good company to work for? Clean driving record and 10 years experience. I live between Lynchburg and Roanoke Va.
Also wouldn"t mind trying to find a co-driver to run out west. THx

Well, PAM screwed me over on my DAC by saying I dropped a trailer. Got turned down by Hirschbach because of it. Trying to figure out how to fight it now.
